What It Does

Voters decide whether to uphold An Act Modernizing Firearm Laws (H. 4885), passed by the Massachusetts legislature in 2024. The law expands background checks, adds new restrictions on assault weapons, and creates new licensing requirements.

▌ Conservative Take

Gun owners forced this to a referendum to give voters a direct say on sweeping new restrictions. The law adds significant red tape to lawful gun ownership in Massachusetts. Conservative voters: NO — reject this gun control expansion and send a message that law-abiding gun owners have rights too.

For conservative voters: NO is the clear choice.

Gun rights groups funded the referendum drive. Expect major spending from both sides.
