What It Does
Eliminates the successor election when a state officer is recalled, leaving the office vacant until filled according to state law. This removes the ability of a recall candidate to simultaneously campaign for the office.
▌ Conservative Take
This was designed in direct response to the failed 2021 Newsom recall, where a Republican replacement candidate could have taken office with a small minority of votes. Eliminating the successor election makes recalls harder to translate into power shifts. D-aligned measure serving Democratic incumbents. Conservative voters: NO — this protects Democratic officeholders from replacement.
For conservative voters: NO is the clear choice.

What It Does
Requires initiatives that change vote thresholds to supermajority votes to pass by the same vote requirement being proposed. Originally placed on the 2024 ballot, moved to 2026.
▌ Conservative Take
The intent is to block conservative tax-limiting initiatives that require 2/3 voter approval by forcing those initiatives themselves to pass with 2/3. This is a D-aligned attempt to entrench the legislature's taxing power. Conservative voters: NO.
For conservative voters: NO is the clear choice.
Campaign Finance
No major campaigns yet. Expect significant spending from public employee unions in support.
